Special Education: Robert Morris University

Building Better Educators

RMU's Special Education (M.Ed.) program is for currently certified teachers who are looking to gain the skills, knowledge, and competencies necessary to meet the needs of students with disabilities in multiple settings. The program of study is flexible to prepare students for initial special education certification, advanced study in special education, and/or Autism Spectrum Disorder Endorsement. Candidates develop a thorough understanding of child development and appropriate diagnostic and instructionally adaptive strategies for all learners.

Advance your skills, maximize the learning potential of your students, and build your professional marketability—with an RMU degree and certification.

Why Choose RMU for Special Education?

Graduate degree candidates enrolled in the program receive one-on-one advising, attend small classes, collaborate with practitioners and administrators in local school districts, and develop close relationships with faculty who have diverse experiences in K-12 schools. Degree candidates are engaged in innovative programs, partnerships within the school communities, and student organizations and volunteer opportunities.
